Hi! My name is Finn. During the day I'm an associate at Scarlatti working in workforce research, which usually means statistics, modelling, and using the Stats NZ IDI. Before starting at Scarlatti, I did a Masters of Science in Physics at the University of Canterbury, supervised by David Wiltshire. And before that, I was an awkward teenager who loved playing in jazz bands.

About this site

After finishing my MSc, to help with my job hunt, I created a portfolio website. Back then it was just on GitHub pages — I've transferred some of the posts from that page to here. In 2026 I got into self-hosting, bought my own domain, and started this site. It's part portfolio, part blog, and part whatever I want it to be. Enjoy!
